NVRE is a Spanish immersion preschool serving nursery, preschool, and summer campers throughout Central Texas. As the founder and head of NVRE, my goal is clear: “Our aim is to create active learners—students who are inquisitive, informed, independent, effective communicators, resilient individuals, and future leaders who contribute to their communities.”

I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all the parents for their unwavering support. It is the parents who truly make a difference! I firmly believe that parents are the most important people in a child’s life, providing the love, affection, support, and approval that are fundamental to every child’s development.

Allow me to share some of my educational philosophy. As a lifelong learner myself, I believe that the most important thing we can do as educators is to focus on student outcomes. At NVRE, we emphasize creating beautiful, engaging spaces that promote meaningful learning experiences in the classroom. In our approach, the environment is considered a “third teacher,” where vibrant colors, inviting smells, and tactile tools help students engage with the learning process even more deeply. We carefully organize our environments and materials based on the concepts to be explored, following socio-constructivist principles of learning, as inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.

In addition, I believe that student success should reflect the development of the whole individual. How well do they interact with their peers? How is their emotional well-being? What are their passions? When we can answer these questions positively, we know we are succeeding at NVRE. To truly educate our children, we must involve their families. Understanding the values of the families we work with and involving them in positive ways is crucial.

None of what we achieve would be possible without two essential elements: excellent teachers and a spirit of collaboration. Hiring talented, dedicated teachers is the most important factor in ensuring positive student outcomes. While we may have the best facilities and resources, it is the quality of our teachers and their collaborative spirit that allows us to reach our goals. Diversity is our strength, and the more diverse the backgrounds of our teachers, the better!

Children are natural explorers, and they must have ownership of their learning journey. This is the true joy of teaching and learning!
